Look at it in direct sun. A best guess is fine: we check the paint in person before any polishing.

Every package includes a full interior and exterior detail and paint decontamination. Corrected paint is always sealed, so the 12-month sealant is the minimum.

A wash cleans paint; it doesn’t fix it. Machine polishing removes the swirl marks and haze in the clear coat, and a sealant or ceramic coating keeps it that way. Every package includes a full interior and exterior detail and the paint decontamination.

Meet the owners
Kieran and Sebastien. Two locals who built this.
SF City Wash started with two San Francisco students, a vacuum and a lot of street parking to practise on. It grew one car and one referral at a time into a fully mobile detailing company, with its own water, its own power and a booking system that shows you the price.
It’s still owner-run. When customers write reviews, they tend to name us rather than the company, and that’s the standard: you should know who is working on your car, and be able to text them afterwards.
Do you bring your own water and power?
Yes. We carry water and power to every job, so you don’t need a hose, an outlet or a driveway. Street spots, garages and apartment lots all work.
Where do you work?
All of San Francisco, plus Daly City, Colma, Pacifica, South San Francisco, San Bruno and Brisbane through online booking. Marin, the southern Peninsula and the East Bay are quoted with a travel fee. See the service area map.
How much does a detail cost?
By vehicle size: an interior detail from $229, a full detail from $279 and an exterior detail from $100. Ceramic packages start at $399 and paint correction with a 12-month sealant at $649. Every price.
How do I book?
In San Francisco and the northern Peninsula, Book Now: pick the service, size, add-ons and a time, and the total is shown before you confirm. Everywhere else, or for paint correction and coatings, request a quote.
Do you work on luxury, exotic and JDM cars?
How long does ceramic coating last?
It depends on the product: Gyeon CanCoat EVO is rated up to 12 months, Gtechniq EXO v5 at 18 to 24 months and Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light up to 5 years, by their manufacturers. Salt air and fog shorten all of them, and how the car is washed matters most. There is no warranty.
Do I need paint correction before a coating?
A coating locks in whatever the paint looks like underneath, swirls included. If the paint is marked, a one-step correction first is worth it, and we never sell correction without protection. Paint correction.
Can you get out pet hair, stains and smells?
Usually. Pet hair removal is $75–$100, seat or carpet extraction $25 per seat or area, and odor treatment $50. Old set-in stains and smoke don’t always come out completely, and we’ll tell you before you pay for it.
